Finally got started on repainting my gauntlets! I already got them prepped primed and got the base coat on and the lighting in the picture really makes the color looks off and I will take some better pics tonight since I got done weathering them last night and they look much better!
Gauntlets are finally finished! I’m not 100% happy with the left gauntlet as the right but it’s not bad and definitely better than my first paint up! My metal parts for my jetpack should be here by the end of the week so I’ll have my jetpack finished off as well. The last part I’ll be tackling is upgrading my resin cast pulce 40 with some metal parts and giving it a repaint. All in all I’m getting pretty close to being done with this whole repaint!
Got everything on the mannequin to kinda get an idea of how things are coming together and I have to say I’m really enjoying the upgrades and overall it looks a lot better. The first photo is the old suit before the upgrades.
Well after 9 months of redoing most of my suit trying to get it up to snuff with all the great work I’ve seen on this site I decided to suit up and see how everything is coming together and boy am I excited!! Please let me know what y’all think and if you have any suggestions I’m open! I couldn’t have done this without y’all support and knowledge!
So I’ve been adding small details and just kinda second guessing everything with my build at this point lol I think y’all were right when y’all said it’s never truly done. Of course now I’ve been looking up some ROTJ stuff online which is scaring the hell out of my wife lol I added the pencil circle mark on the left ear and did some more wreathing! I’m currently trying to figure out the best was way to remove the casted in Borden connector without ruining the paint job so I can install the metal on I’ll be receiving with my hollow gauntlet rocket so if anyone has any ideas or suggestions I’m all ears! I will also be fixing the damage to the lower right mandible around the same time.. it still makes me cringe everyone I see the damage especially since it could have been so easily avoided..
So I decided to take Eric’s advice on using the specialized paint for my vinyl belt trying my best to get it looking at least somewhat more accurate and this is what I got so far. I might do another light mist of the russet color but I am happy with the way this is coming out! Sorry for the horrible pics these don’t do it justice by any means.
