So after some time of bouncing back and fourth from TDH and here I figured why not start a build thread since I’m upgrading/redoing most of my previous work in hopes that I can finally make it into the 501st. I have already repainted new chest armor pieces I just need to weather them and paint the emblem. I started on the collar armor this morning and got the silver paint laid on and while that starts drying and curing I’ll start working on my shin tools with upgraded found parts. It’s pretty weird seeing my Fett stripped back down.

So for the base green I used Hunt club green because I decided to give rattle cans a shot instead of airbrushing and I haven’t regretted my decision just yet lol for the yellow I used an acrylic antique gold which has a really nice color to it. I am more than likely going to repaint the right chest plate because I’m not quite happy with the way that one turned out.

So today I got to work on making my shin tools a bit more accurate than they were! When I first started my build I did hardly any research and just started buying everything I possibly could and well let’s just say MOW old shin tools were far from being even remotely accurate so I decided to grab some found parts. Here’s what I did today!

Looking good! The tape is gaffers tape and the black piece is actually the t-visor acrylic material. @Ord Mantell did a fantastic job replicating this tool in his thread.

I plan on replacing it with gaffers tape at some point and when I can find some black acrylic I’ll upgrade it as well! Ords build is definitely out of this world and is actually my inspiration on trying to do a more accurate build! All I can say is I couldn’t be more grateful for this community!

So I broke down I bought some archive x paints and now my bank account really hates me lol so I’m repainting my shoulders and I’m going to try and be as accurate as I possibly can. I got the trimming and sanding done and a coat of primer. I have to admit it was pretty heartbreaking sanding off my original paint job

So I finally finished my collar armor I just need to give it a good wipe down with 0000 steel wool and that should make it look a lot better. While getting ready to paint on the silver I kept looking back over at Ord Mantell’s build and decided to add the dent to my right shoulder armor before adding the silver. Instead of using a heat gun I used just a regular old lighter and it worked so much better and was way more controlled lol

So my helmet that I got commissioned is getting closer and closer to being done and with MinuteFett’s new aluminum ears it’s really coming together and I couldn’t be more stoked!

I also got my aluminum darts for my knees and painted them last night! I will say I didn’t think upgrading to aluminum parts would be that much of a difference but to me especially now it really helps make the piece!

Got some stenciling done on both shoulders next step get them bad boys masked off and ready to paint! I’ll be going with archive x paints this go round.

So I decided to take a small break on my armor repaint and decided to touch up my boots a bit and try and make them look more accurate. This is where I’m at right now and I think it’s a huge improvement. I decided to go with a blue base color similar to the flight suit rather than just grey. The first set of photos are before and then last photos will be after. I still have a bit more weathering to do but I think I’m on the right track.

So these came in today and boy am I excited! I should be starting on the shoulder sometime this week if the weather lets me lol I still need to mask off the right shoulder which has been giving me a lot of trouble because it almost looks a tad bit different in every reference photo I look at.

This is where I’m going to leave this. It’s not 100% accurate and honestly I’m not sure if that’s even possible lol but I am pretty happy with the way this is turning out. I will be using archive x sp armor yellow for the base coat and I’ll go from there!
